Examples of applications include:

Thixotropic Fluids (viscosity decreases with stress over time) such as honey, butter and floc-suspended fluids
Rheopectic Fluids (viscosity increases with stress over time) such as creams, printer inks and egg whites
Shear Thinning Fluids (viscosity decreases with increased stress) such as tomato sauce, blood and toothpaste
Shear thickening fluids (Vvscosity increases with increased stress) such as quicksand, Oobleck (corn-starch and water) and some polymers
