What is a Diaphragm Drum Pump Used For?

This pump is specifically designed to transfer liquids directly from drums or containers safely and efficiently. Ideal for chemicals, solvents, acids/alkalis, hazardous or flammable fluids (ATEX zones), as well as viscous or solids-laden liquids.

What Makes this Pump Different From a Conventional Drum Pump?

While conventional Drum Pumps have limited solids handling capabilities and aren’t suited to dry running, our Pneumatic Diaphragm Drum Pump handles solids up to 15mm, experiences no damage from dry running, offers low shear transfer and exhibits excellent chemical resistance.

Is this Pump Suitable for Hazardous Environments?

Yes. All Tapflo Diaphragm Drum Pumps are available in ATEX-compliant versions for use in Zone 1 applications.

What Materials are Available?

To ensure compatibility with a wide range of fluids, these pumps are available in PE (polyethylene), for abrasive or chemically aggressive fluids, PTFE for maximum chemical resistance (concentrated acids/solvents), as well as Aluminium or Stainless Steel (AISI 316L), for general industrial or sanitary use. The drum tube is available in PP or PTFE, while the handle is built from Stainless Steel 316L.

How Long Can the Drum Tube Be?

You can specify any length up to 2m, making it suitable for a range of container sizes and installations.

Is this Pump Portable?

Yes, this lightweight pump is designed for mobile and flexible use. Featuring an integrated stainless steel handle, this pump is quick to install and remove, and is perfect for temporary installations or plant-wide use.

Can this Pump Dry Run?

Yes! Like all Tapflo UK Diaphragm Pumps, it is self-priming and can run dry without risk of damage.
