Bespoke Pump System

Article sections

What is a bespoke pump system?

A Bespoke Pump System is a piece of fluid handling equipment customised to suit your needs, usually, skid or trolley mounted. This combines a variety of fluid accessories including a pump, collection of isolation and control valves, filters, a flow meter and control panel all into one complex unit, skid or system to suit your individual needs. Tapflo’s Engineered to Order (ETO) department can cater to something simple, such as a trolley mounted pump unit with on and off controls, or more complex systems with self-cleaning filters, air treatment systems and many other options.

We have the facility to deliver our Bespoke Pumping Systems with pumps from our own product range as well as 3rd parties on a re-sale or free issue basis to ensure that we meet almost any requirements and specifications, from general industry to EHEDG or ATEX certified.

What is involved in specifying a bespoke pump system?

Tapflo is highly experienced in the development of Bespoke Pump Systems for a number of different industries and has created a step-by-step system to ensure all of our customers’ needs are met and nothing is missed out. Through careful consultation and discussions as well as an all-important site visit we iron out all the application and process requirements and identify any specific site restrictions, must-have features and would like features to ensure that the system fully meets expectations as well as budget.

Tapflo bespoke pump system case study:

Tapflo were recently approached by a food production company for the supply of a Sanitary Diaphragm Pump package to replace an existing transfer system for tomato sauce. The customer wanted to improve capacity to the production line, however, had a limited air supply pressure to 4 bar, a very small footprint to fill and needed a consistent, pulse-less flow, but The Tapflo Team were only too happy to take up the challenge! After consultation with the customer and a site visit to investigate the process and requirements, we custom designed a bespoke skid frame to house our 2” T425 STT Sanitary Air Operated Diaphragm Pump, 2” DT425 ST Sanitary Active Pulsation Dampener & Festo 2:1 Pressure Booster with Differential Pressure Indication & Control. We supplied the package fully assembled & tested, ready to use out of the box. The final footprint we were able to deliver in was 600 x 600 x 950 mm (L x W x H) which fitted nicely into the available space, with the inlet & outlet connections positioned at the desired levels to be easily integrated into the customers’ existing pipework.
