What makes the CTS I model different from the CTS H?

Made from AISI 316L Stainless Steel for chemical resistance and mechanical strength, the CTS I is designed for Industrial applications, while the CTS H, featuring electropolished surfaces, FDA-approved seals and a high sanitary finish, is designed for Hygienic applications.

How does the self-priming feature work?

The CTS I can create up to 4.5m of suction lift, allowing it to pump liquids without needing to be flooded. Only the suction pipe is immersed, and the pump can be installed above the liquid source.

What are typical applications of the CTS I?

Tapflo’s Industrial Self-Priming Centrifugal Pump is designed for Chemical, Oil & Gas, Machinery, Wastewater Treatment, and general Industrial fluid transfer.

Can the pump handle aerated fluids?

Yes. The self-priming design is ideal for highly aerated liquids where standard Centrifugal Pumps may lose prime.

What is the particle handling capability?

With a standard open impeller, the pump handles particles up to 6mm in diameter (larger if they are soft).

What materials and finishes are available?

The CTS I features a glass-blasted casing and an impeller made from AISI 316L Stainless Steel.

What are the seal and o-ring options?

Mechanical seal options include standard ceramic/graphite with SiC/SiC or SiC/graphite available on request, while O-Ring options include EPDM as standard, with FKM, FEP/Silicone or NBR as options. The CTS-H, our Hygienic variant of this pump, features FDA-approved materials.

How easy is it to maintain this pump?

Very easy. The pump can be disassembled without disrupting the piping. Additionally, standard Centrifugal Pumps can be upgraded to self-priming options by simply replacing a single part.
