How does an Inverter Drive Flexible Impeller Pump work?

This pump operates by rotating the internal shaft, which causes the flexible impeller to bend against the casing, pushing fluids and solids out of the discharge port.

What is the difference between a Centrifugal and a Flexible Impeller Pump?

A Centrifugal Pump is a Rotodynamic pump that transmits energy from the motor to the liquid, thereby forcing the fluid out of the discharge port.

The Impeller Pump is a Positive Displacement Pump that traps small amounts of liquid and forces it from the suction to the discharge port.

How does this differ from other Flexible Impeller Pumps?

The INV-BS series is a cost-effective alternative to the INV range. It features simplified controls with speed adjustment from 175 to 1400 rpm, a reversing switch for bi-directional flow, and a compact 2-wheel trolley design. Unlike the INV series, it does not include dry-run protection.

Are these pumps self-priming?

Yes, they can self-prime up to 6m suction lift from dry.

Can this pump run dry?

No. Running dry can damage the impeller or mechanical seal. Unlike the INV series, the INV-BS range does not include dry-run protection, so the pump must always be operated with liquid present.

Is this pump suitable for abrasive or hazardous chemicals?

Suitability depends on the application and material selection. With impellers available in NR, NBR, Neoprene, EPDM, and Silicone, and pump heads in 304L or 316L stainless steel, the INV-BS can handle a wide range of fluids, including some chemical and cosmetic products.

For highly abrasive or aggressive hazardous chemicals, material compatibility should be checked on a case-by-case basis to ensure safe and reliable operation.
