What is a Filter Press Diaphragm Pump Designed For?

This pump station is built to feed filter presses, enabling straightforward and reliable pressing of slurries. It’s compact enough to be mounted directly on the filter press, saving space and simplifying installation.

What are the Key Features & Benefits of this Pump?

The unit includes a pressure regulator, and with an external pressure booster, can double the available air pressure. As an example, 7 Bar air pressure delivers up to 14 Bar output pressure. This pump can also run dry without damage, and is easy to start up and operate. Owing to fewer components, this pump can be easily serviced for reduced downtime, and fits directly on the filter press to minimise footprint. With durable materials and design, this pump is ideal for extended operation in harsh slurry environments.

What Type of Slurry can the Filter Press Diaphragm Pump Handle?

The pump is designed to handle a wide variety of slurries, including abrasive and viscous mixtures commonly encountered in filtration processes.

Can the Pump Operate at Pressures Higher than the Supplied Air Pressure?

Yes. Thanks to the external pressure booster, the pump can achieve up to twice the supplied air pressure, allowing for high-pressure filter press feeding even with moderate air pressure inputs.

Is Maintenance Complex for the Filter Press Diaphragm Pump?

No. The pump uses fewer parts than many competitors, making maintenance straightforward and reducing downtime and service costs.

Filter Press Diaphragm Pump

Our Filter Press Diaphragm Pump is a pump station that can be mounted directly to the filter press. Designed specifically for filter press feeding, the design and function of this pump allows for the straightforward pressing of slurries. When purchased as a complete unit, a Pressure Regulator & Booster is already installed onto the pump via an external mounting bracket. The booster amplifies the pressure achievable by the pump in a 2:1 ratio. For example, with an available air pressure of 70 meters, the delivery pressure will be a maximum of 140 meters. As a result, we can achieve up to 160 meters on the pump's discharge (depending on pump size). Available in HDPE/PTFE and Metal executions.

Typical applications for our Filter Press Diaphragm Pump:

  • Pump Station for Filter Press Feeding
  • Pressing of Slurries
Overview

As standard, the Pressure Booster is equipped with a pressure regulator and two manometers. Compared to a standard pump, our TF model is equipped with reinforcement plates and a special air valve with PET pistons. We also recommend using an aluminium centre body instead of the standard PP for enhanced durability.

This Pump Station for Filter Press Feeding is self-regulating, and no additional device for regulating the capacity is necessary. It is therefore a plug-and-play solution that’s mounted directly to the Filter Press. Simply connect the air and fluid pipework and you’re set. For monitoring the filling level of the Filter Press, stroke sensors, stroke counters, and flow meters are available.
