Mixer options

Electric High Speed Mixer

For low viscosity liquids up to 100 cPs, requiring high speed mixing.

Electric Low Speed Mixer

Electric motor with gearbox, for low & high viscosity liquids up to 20,000 cPs.

Pneumatic Low Speed Mixer

Pneumatic motor with gearbox for low & high viscosity liquids up to 20,000 cPs.

Electric Mixer – Versatile

The most versatile option, allows a single mixer for mixing different media, up to 20,000 cPs.

Choosing the right impeller for your mixing needs

  • Fixed Impeller: For low-viscosity liquids (<100 cPs)
  • Folding Impeller: Fold to pass through IBC openings, expands during mixing, for viscosities from 15000-20,000 cPs
  • Kicker Impeller (low-level): Mounted below the folding impeller, prevents solids from settling, and ensures effective mixing when the IBC is nearly empty

Available Motors

Electric Motor (High-Speed)

For viscosities up to 100 cPs, 1-phase of 3-phase, mild/medium mixing

Pneumatic Motor (High-Speed)

For low-viscosity liquids, with speed control valve, quick coupling & silencer

Gearbox – Electric or Pneumatic (Low-Speed)

What are IBC Mixers used for?

IBC mixers homogenise liquids, powders or suspensions directly inside, ensuring fluid stays consistent and doesn’t separate before processing, packaging or discharge.

What viscosities can IBC Mixers handle?

Tapflo’s IBC mixers can handle liquids up to 20,000 cPs, depending on the drive and impeller selected.

Can IBC Mixers be used in ATEX environments?

Yes, there are IBC mixers that are ATEX-available and can be used in hazardous zones and environments.

Are IBC Mixers customisable?

Yes, we offer a range of customisation options such as, forklift modules, additive dosing connections, powder hoppers and frequency inverters.

What materials are used in construction?

Wetted parts are typically constructed from AISI 316 Stainless Steel, with options for PP (Polypropylene), PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy)  and ECTFE (Ethylene Chlorotrifluoroethylene). Frames are built from AISI 304 Stainless Steel or painted steel.

What do I need for installation?

Each mixer is supplied as a complete assembly with clamps for secure fixing. Installation is quick and operator-friendly. If you require any installation support, please get in touch with our technical team.

Looking for another Mixing option?

If you are looking for another mixer, whether it be a drum mixer or a pneumatic mixing and emptying system. Take a look at our Industrial Mixers catalogue page to view our other options.
