System Considerations

  • Tank sizing: Built for long-duration cycles; large tanks reduce refill downtime
  • Safety Features: CIP break systems prevent cross-contamination between cleaning and product lines
  • Flow Balance: Slight output excess ensures constant motion, preventing a stagnant solution
  • ATEX Compatibility: Optional component specs for hazardous or flammable environments
  • Remote Access: Diagnostics and control updates via secure connection
  • Multi-Stream Capability: Clean independent process lines simultaneously
  • Data Logging: Built-in monitoring and CSV data recording for QA and regulatory documentation
  • Custom Layout: System footprint, flow configuration, and tank sizing adapted to facility needs

What is the Multi-Tank CIP System used for?

Tapflo’s Multi-Tank CIP System is used for large-scale clean-in-place operations that require equipment being thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.

Available in unlimited tank configurations, this system offers exceptional flexibility to accommodate tailored process requirements.

What components are included in the Multi-Tank CIP System?

The system includes dedicated tanks for rinse, detergent, recovery, and optional acid reuse, Tapflo high-efficiency centrifugal pumps, Cipriani Harrison butterfly valves, flow rate sensors, temperature sensors (alkali up to 90°C), conductivity and chemical concentration monitoring, and tank level sensors.

It also includes PLC controls, a washdown-rated 316 stainless steel construction, and Ethernet communication for data logging and updates.

What are the available tank configurations?

The system is configurable as a setup with 2 or more tanks. A 2-tank system includes rinse and detergent tanks; a 3-tank system adds acid for multi-stage cleaning; and a 4-tank system enables acid reuse for aggressive or regulated chemical cleaning processes. More tanks can be added to this system if required

Can the system support multiple cleaning lines at once?

Yes, the Multi-Tank CIP System supports multi-stream CIP by using multi-pump configurations. This allows for the cleaning of two or more independent process lines simultaneously.

What materials is the Multi-Tank CIP System constructed from?

All wetted components are made from food-grade 316 stainless steel. The entire system is washdown-rated and built for hygienic, industrial environments.

How is the performance monitored?

The system uses real-time monitoring tools, including flow rate sensors, temperature sensors, conductivity sensors, chemical concentration sensors, and tank level monitoring to ensure consistent and accurate cleaning cycles.

What safety and installation features are included?

Safety considerations include CIP break tanks and backflow protection to prevent cross-contamination between cleaning and product lines. Slight output excess ensures constant motion of cleaning fluid, preventing stagnation.

The frame also includes adjustable feet for levelling, making it suitable for integration into sloped floors or uneven surfaces.

Is the system customisable or scalable?

Yes! The system is fully bespoke with no limitations on tank size, pipe diameter, or layout.

Looking for a smaller or transportable CIP System?

If you’re looking for a CIP system that requires only one tank, lower volumes or transportable, visit our CIP systems page to see our full range.
