Up to 99% product removal at 590l/min!
The High Viscosity Drum Unloading System (HVS) is designed for the efficient emptying of barrels and containers filled with paste-like or semi-solid products that do not flow easily. Equipped with a hygienic Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pump, the system ensures fast unloading while achieving up to 99% product recovery thanks to its scraping lid technology.
Built with AISI 316L Stainless Steel (electropolished to Ra < 1.6 as standard) and available with ATEX-rated components, the HVS System is suitable for both Hygienic and Industrial applications. With flow rates of up to 590 l/min, solids passage up to 51 mm and capable of handling viscosities up to 100,000 cPs, it delivers high performance across industries where productivity, safety, and compliance are critical.
Up to 99% product extraction with scraper lid technology, reducing waste and maximising yield
Achieve flow rates up to 590 l/min, depending on liquid properties and discharge pressures
Capable of handling fluid with viscosities up to 20,000 cPs
Automates unloading, freeing operators to prepare the next drum while the system completes the process
In-house manufactured control panels allow full integration and tailoring of system operation
Suitable for hygienic (FDA, EN 10204 compliant) and ATEX-rated industrial environments
Can be seamlessly connected with filling or processing lines, optimising throughput
Backup diaphragm with rupture detection prevents cross-contamination and protects product integrity
Constructed from electropolished AISI 316L Stainless Steel with multiple surface finish options (Ra < 1.6, Ra < 0.8, Ra < 0.5)
Mounted on a wheeled frame for easy relocation within the production facility

Pallets with drums are delivered using a forklift or pallet truck. The mobile HVS System is wheeled into position around the drum
The Diaphragm Pump is lowered into the drum
Once the START button is pressed, the system begins pumping. In automatic mode, the pump lowers and unloads until the drum is empty, then stops automatically. In manual mode, operators can adjust the lowering and pumping controls directly
A follower plate with a scraper lid (lip seal or inflatable seal) descends with the pump, ensuring maximum recovery by scraping product from the drum walls
Once empty, compressed air is introduced between the lid and drum to assist in the clean removal of the follower plate
HVS Drum Unloading System adapts to your application needs
Straight-Sided Drums:
The most common type (200L steel drums); suitable for compact or palletised delivery
Conical Drums:
Space-saving option with nestable design; compatible with inflatable scraper seals
Customised Solutions:
Tailored adaptations available for specific drum shapes or damaged drums
