Nova Rotors’ range of Diamond Series Progressive Cavity Pumps is characterised by a modular design covering numerous models and sizes enabling capacities up to 420 m³/hr and discharge pressures up to 48 bar. The Diamond Series was designed & built with high modularity in mind so that each element of the pump can be specifically selected based on the application requirements and customisation so that even if the product use varies over time the product can be adapted and upgraded to renewed process specifications. As a result, there are a plethora of options and accessories which when combined enable progressing cavity pumps which can be easily tailored to almost any site requirement.
Their completely sanitary design is in compliance with EHEDG & 3A Standards and suitable for both CIP & SIP Cleaning & Sterilising procedures. Their special geometry allows for complete draining and avoidance of any dead zones where bacterial build-up and contamination can occur on standard Industrial designs. On request, all non-product contact parts can be supplied in Stainless Steel AISI 304 to increase their suitability for use in sanitary zones. Similar to the Flanged Industrial Series, the Hygienic Series can be delivered in either a Close Coupled Orientation (DX) or Flexibly Coupled Orientation with Bearing Bracket Support (JX). Either variant can be supplied with either an Open Pin Joint design (DXO / JXO) where the joint lubrication is facilitated by the pumped fluid (non-abrasive & lubricating) or Closed Pint Joint design (DXC / JXC) where the joint is sealed and lubricated independently from the pumped fluid making it suitable for sticky, non-lubricating or abrasive fluids.

A Progressive Cavity Pump is defined as a volumetric, self-priming, rotary positive displacement pump. The “conveying” part of the pump consists of 2 elements, namely a rotor & stator. The Rotor is typically manufactured from a metallic material and formed in a single or multiple screw design with a rounded thread, large pitches, considerable length & high eccentricity in relation to its core diameter. The rotor rotates within the stator which is typically elastomeric and embedded with a cavity in the shape of 2 or multiple screws, double threaded and with the same eccentricity as the rotor. As the rotor turns the cavities within the stator are filled with the process media and are carried towards the pump outlet under pressure. As these pockets of fluid have a set volume the volumetric flow rate is therefore directly proportional to the rotational speed of the rotor and results in low levels of shearing and little to no pulse.
